In spite of their aging infrastructure and limited "continental"breakfast, this was the best cheap motel I've ever stayed in. The family lives there, they're unobtrusive yet responsive. You can walk to plenty of places to eat. The rooms were very clean, and speaking of clean, I was there at full capacity during the total eclipse and there wasn't one speck of trash on the ground. So high marks for the low cost and excellent effort.
I had the most horrific experience at Scottish Inns. They charged an extra 20 a day for pets. They threatened that I would not receive a microwave or refrigerator unless I specified that in my booking information (even though they advertise that all rooms come with this). The beds are old and the bedding had cigarette holes in them where it has been burned. Even if you use your "do not disturb" sign- the staff will still bother you. They insist on cleaning the room every day, leaving us to stand outside in the rain some days. Some members of the staff had very bad body odor and when they finished cleaning the room, the smell would linger. I hate saying that, but it would make you gag. And the worst part of my experience- the toilet started overflowing and feces came up through the bathtub. They switched our room when they realized how poor their plumbing was. Well the same thing happened in the next room, as well as a whole row of rooms other guests were staying in. We stayed here out of necessity. The staff eventually blamed my family for the plumbing issues and refused to rent to us. Because we definitely broke the plumbing in our rooms and the rooms of other guests... seriously? Bottom line- don't stay here. This place is disgusting! It's a stay of necessity, not choice!
Overpriced rooms that are cramped and ridiculously out of date. 1800 turn of the century vibe and furniture that was really cheaply made.
The night desk clerk was rude rude rude. Acted like she was doing me a favor letting me stay here. Very unprofessional so I went a block a way to a better hotel. Place looked like a dump anyway. I'd recommend going to one of the many others in the area.
Great place! Stayed here for 4 days. Very quiet. No problems. Truck parking. Has a Shoney's right next door, as well other other restaurants like Ruby Tuesday close by. All for under $50 a night!
